Frequently Asked Questions on Personal Injury & Motor Vehicle Accidents
Why See A Chiropractor Immediately After a Car Accident?
Seeing a chiropractor immediately following an accident greatly improves your chances to recover full mobility in your joints as well as significantly lessens your chances of sustaining long-lasting soft tissue damage.
In most cases, people experience zero or minimal pain for a week or two after the accident before they started complaining of stiff neck, headaches, tingling, numbness, disturbed sleep, and more. Our doctors at Pangemanan Chiropractic have over 60+ years of combined clinical experience and can help you get well again.

Chiropractic doctors are the most sought-out practitioners by victims of personal injury because of their array of services such as chiropractic, adjunctive therapies as well as their ability to do onsite diagnostic digital imaging (X-rays) and medical referral when necessary.
What if I am At Fault for the Accident?
If you were injured in an accident and you were the at-fault party, you should absolutely still have our skilled doctors evaluate your condition. Accidents happen and you shouldn’t suffer needlessly. Oftentimes patients that were at-fault for their accident do not pay out-of-pocket for their own care even when at fault. Most auto insurance companies have “Medical Payments” (AKA MedPay) that covers your care with no co-pay or deductible. In rare cases where that is not available, our office will evaluate your commercial health insurance benefits at no cost to you. We really do want to make getting care and helping you “become whole” again a priority!
Isn't taking painkillers and muscle relaxants enough for me to get better?
Painkiller drugs numb the body's pain signals to the brain. Muscle relaxants relax the muscles, including your heart and other muscles you actually need to function properly. Will they help you feel some better? Probably some. Do they fix the actual problem? Depends on the case, but in most cases we have seen in over 60+ combined years of experience, people who got injured and took only painkillers and muscle relaxants in the first few weeks (no chiropractic care) after an accident, were the ones who healed the slowest with the most complications. Their spine and joints became more misaligned, more stiff, and their muscles and ligaments had to work harder to accommodate the newely misaligned unstable posture.

Structural problem requires structural solution, not chemical solution. A house with beams bent or crooked, cannot be fixed with chemical solutions.
How Much Do I Need to Pay Upfront?
Victims of Personal Injury typically do NOT pay for their care. Our office will coordinate the benefits with the at-fault party’s liability insurance and will work hand-in-hand with involved attorney(s). It is a goal of our clinics to make this as seamless as possible for personal injury victims.

Contact your insurance agent and ask for a CLAIM NUMBER which is your specific case number. Bring this and your picture ID to your first visit. If you have police report, even better. Fill out the contact form below or call us directly at 502-839-7171 or leave voicemail if after hours.
What Constitutes a Personal Injury Accident?
Personal injury accidents include motor vehicle accidents (cars, trucks, and motorcycles), accidents involving slips, trips, and falls, and accidents that occur at work. It’s very common for accidents like these not to present stiffness, soreness, loss of mobility, pain, and discomfort for days or weeks after the accident.
How can Low Level Light Therapy / Cold Laser Therapy help me recover faster?
Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), promotes healing by stimulating cellular activity, increasing blood flow, and reducing inflammation, all while being a painless and non-invasive procedure.
Here's a more detailed explanation of how cold laser therapy aids in healing:
Stimulates Cellular Activity:
Laser light penetrates the skin and interacts with cells, specifically mitochondria, which are the "powerhouses" of the cell. This interaction boosts cellular energy production (ATP), which is essential for cell repair and regeneration.
Enhances Blood Flow:
Cold laser therapy increases blood flow to the affected area, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, which are vital for the healing process.
Reduces Inflammation:
The laser light triggers an anti-inflammatory response, helping to reduce swelling and pain.
Promotes Tissue Repair:
By stimulating cell activity and improving blood flow, cold laser therapy accelerates the body's natural healing processes, leading to faster tissue repair and regeneration.
Pain Relief:
Cold laser therapy can help reduce pain by blocking nerve transmissions and releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.
Non-Invasive and Painless:
Unlike some other treatments, cold laser therapy is a non-invasive procedure that is generally painless and well-tolerated
